There are a variety of reasons why you might need an electrical panel upgrade. The panel separates the circuits that supply electricity to your home. Each one is safeguarded by a circuit breaker, which is prone to malfunction. The following are some of the reasons why a panel upgrade or modification may be required.

1. Wiring Issues
   This is one of the most common causes of home fires that calls for an immediate panel upgrade. A burning odor, flickering lights, sparking power outlets, and a jolt when touching your appliances are all signs that something could be wrong with your wiring.
2. New Appliances that Consume a Lot of Energy
   Higher amperage may be required if you are purchasing a new air conditioner, hot tub, or other energy-intensive devices. If your amps are insufficient, your circuit breakers may trip every time you turn on a new piece of equipment. For this, a 150 amp to 200  amp electrical panel is typically recommended.
3. Use of Extension Cables in Excess
   If you’ve been plugging everything into one main power outlet with many power strips and extension cables, it’s time for an electrical panel upgrade.
